Underlay
Shield your pond liner from punctures, root damage, and rough ground with our range of heavy-duty geotextile pond underlay and protective fleece membranes. Serving as the essential foundation layer for any flexible pond installation, high-grade underlay provides a tough, cushioned buffer between the excavated earth and your waterproof liner, ensuring long-term structural protection and peace of mind.
Manufactured from dense, needle-punched non-woven synthetic fibres, our geotextile underlay is engineered to resist tearing, rot, and decay caused by soil bacteria and ground moisture. When laid directly across the excavated earth, rock shelves, and vertical pond walls, it evenly distributes the massive weight of pond water, preventing sharp stones, hidden flint, and invasive tree roots from penetrating through flexible PVC, EPDM, or butyl rubber liners. It is equally effective when placed on top of liners beneath decorative boulders, heavy planting baskets, and waterfall rockwork to guard against abrasive surface wear. Flexible, lightweight, and easy to cut to shape with standard utility shears, pieces can be overlapped effortlessly to provide complete ground coverage across complex contours and bottom drain recesses.
